When
you buy new tires the dealer is required by Federal
Law to provide you with a form so that you can register
your tires. If you do not receive a form,
ASK! It's YOUAND YOUR
FAMILY riding on those tires!
If
you do not receive a form, how will you know if your tires have
been recalled? You WON'T
know if your tires are not registered, and that's NOT
safe!
To insure that your rights are protected,
print out our "Consumer
Rights Certificate" (in Adobe
PDF format) and take it with you to your local dealer when
you purchase new tires.
When your tires are registered, it is your right to be directly
notified of a tire recall in the event of a safety related defect.
This is so the tires can be removed and replaced as quickly as
possible to protect you and your family.
TO RECEIVE DIRECT NOTIFICATION
IN THE EVENT OF A SAFETY RELATED RECALL
YOU MUST MAKE SURE YOUR TIRES ARE REGISTERED!
F
The Tire Dealer MUST provide you with
a mailable, pre-addressed Tire Registration Form when you purchase
new tires.
This pre-addressed form must contain
the complete Serial Number(s) of the tire(s) purchased, the
Tire Brand Name and the selling dealer's name & address.
It is then up to you to send in the
tire registration. If you choose not to send in the registration
form, you will not be notified in the event of a safety related
tire recall.
If the tire dealer, as a customer service
does not mail the tire registration form for you, then it is
up to you to send the form to the tire registration center.
This is the only way that you can be sure that you will be notified
in the event of a safety related tire recall.
Exercise your rights...be sure that
your tires are registered!
If you have already purchased tires, and
those tires were not registered at the time of purchase, there
is something you can do. Check out our special section on "What
If My Tires Are NOT Registered?"
