Independent Tire Dealers Leading Increase in Federally Mandated Tire Registrations
October 13, 2004 Independent tire dealers are leading the growth in the increase of tire registrations, says CIMS, Inc., the world's largest private tire registration firm. Registration of tires, a federal mandate of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) since the early 1970s, has increased 48 percent in the last two years, according to CIMS.
